IONSCAN Trace Detection Project

Requirement

IONSCAN is the trade name for a device that detects & identifies trace residue of illicit narcotics & explosives. Smiths Detection’s IONSCAN 500DT (Dual Tube) is a reliable, highly sensitive detector that can accurately identify trace residues of a wide variety of explosives and narcotics. The detector can detect very small (trace) amounts of substances. Contract with Smiths Detection to continue to provide service support for IONSCAN devices deployed in the Coast Guard fleet, to provide a pool of loaner devices accessible by all Coast Guard units that conduct Maritime Law Enforcement activities, to provide consumable kits to select units, and to provide for training.
