Requirement

The objective of the NFA UAS Basic Remote Pilot Program R0741 is to develop a nationally credentialed, all-hazard UAS pilot workforce among state, local, tribal, and territorial fire service first responders. By delivering a standardized 40-hour curriculum across geographically diverse regions, the program aims to equip participants with essential UAS operational skills, federal proficiency standards, and practical airspace communication capabilities. The initiative is designed to ensure compliance with the latest federal requirements, including mandatory NIST Level 3 proficiency and NDAA-compliant aircraft use, while fostering interagency collaboration and broadening access to advanced UAS training. Ultimately, the program seeks to enhance the safety, effectiveness, and interoperability of first responders during emergency incidents nationwide. The contractor shall deliver the NFA Basic Remote Pilot Course, based on the Interagency Aviation Training (IAT) A-450 framework, enhanced with NIST Levels 1-3 proficiency standards and a dedicated airspace curriculum block. The program will credential 208 pilots across 8 classes.
