The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) provides security at America’s borders and ports of entry, as well as extends our zone of security beyond our physical borders. CBP is also responsible for processing all people, vehicles and cargo entering the United States; apprehending individuals attempting to enter the United States illegally; stemming the flow of illegal drugs and other contraband; protecting our agricultural and economic interests from harmful pests and diseases; regulating and facilitating international trade and travel; protecting American businesses from theft of intellectual property and unfair trade practices; collecting import duties; maintaining export controls; and enforcing U.S. trade laws.
