Creating a Template

Templates define the structure and styling of your proposals. Create templates for different proposal types, clients, or business lines.

How to Create

From Scratch

  1. Go to Templates
  2. Click New Template
  3. Enter template name and description
  4. Define sections
  5. Configure styling
  6. Save

From Existing Proposal

Turn a successful proposal into a template:

  1. Open the proposal
  2. Click Save as Template
  3. Enter template name
  4. Review sections
  5. Save

From Uploaded Document

Import a Word document as a template:

  1. Click Import Template
  2. Upload your document
  3. Review extracted structure
  4. Adjust as needed
  5. Save

Defining Sections

Adding Sections

  1. Click Add Section
  2. Enter section title
  3. Add optional description
  4. Set section order
  5. Add AI generation instructions

Section Properties

For each section, configure:

  • Title - Section heading
  • Description - What this section covers
  • Required - Must be included in proposal
  • AI Instructions - Guidance for content generation
  • Word Count Target - Suggested length
  • Assigned Role - Default assignee type

Reordering Sections

Drag and drop sections to reorder, or use:

  • Up/down arrows
  • Section number input

Headers & Footers

Design headers and footers:

  • Company logo
  • Proposal title
  • Page numbers
  • Confidentiality notice
  • Date

Cover Page

Create a cover page template:

  • Logo placement
  • Title styling
  • Client information
  • Date format

Template Metadata

Basic Information

  • Name - Template identifier
  • Description - When to use this template
  • Business Line - Associated business unit
  • Category - Template type (Government, Commercial, etc.)

Default Settings

Set defaults that apply when using this template:

  • Default approvers
  • Notification settings
  • Export options

Testing Templates

Before using widely:

  1. Create a test proposal
  2. Apply the template
  3. Generate content
  4. Export and review
  5. Adjust as needed

Template Versioning

Updating Templates

When you update a template:

  • New proposals use the new version
