The Proposal Editor

The proposal editor is where you refine AI-generated content and craft your winning proposal. Each section can be edited independently.

Editing Sections

Opening a Section

  1. Open your proposal
  2. Click on a section in the left sidebar
  3. The content appears in the main editor

Basic Editing

The editor supports rich text formatting:

  • Bold and italic text
  • Headings and subheadings
  • Bullet and numbered lists
  • Tables
  • Links

Using the Toolbar

The formatting toolbar includes:

  • Text formatting (bold, italic, underline)
  • Paragraph styles (headings, lists)
  • Insert options (tables, links)
  • Undo/redo

AI-Assisted Editing

Refine with AI

Select text and use AI to:

  1. Expand - Add more detail
  2. Condense - Make more concise
  3. Improve - Enhance clarity and impact
  4. Rephrase - Say it differently

How to Use

  1. Highlight the text you want to improve
  2. Click the AI Assist button
  3. Choose an action
  4. Review and accept or reject the suggestion

Custom Instructions

For specific changes:

  1. Select text
  2. Click AI Assist > Custom
  3. Describe what you want
  4. Apply the suggestion

Version History

Track changes over time:

Viewing History

  1. Click Version History in the section toolbar
  2. Browse previous versions
  3. See who made changes and when

Restoring Versions

  1. Find the version you want
  2. Click Restore
  3. The section reverts to that version

AI vs. User Edits

Version history distinguishes between:

  • AI Generated - Original AI content
  • User Edited - Manual changes

Collaboration Features

Comments

Add comments for team discussion:

  1. Select text
  2. Click the comment icon
  3. Add your comment
  4. Mention team members with @

Assignments

Assign sections to team members:

  1. Click Assign on a section
  2. Select the team member
  3. They'll be notified

Real-time Editing

Multiple team members can edit simultaneously:

  • See who's editing which sections
  • Changes sync automatically
  • Avoid editing conflicts

Content Quality

  1. Be specific - Use concrete examples and data
  2. Address requirements - Reference RFP language
  3. Show value - Focus on benefits to the client
  4. Be concise - Respect evaluators' time

Review Process

  1. Self-edit first
  2. Have a colleague review
  3. Check requirement coverage
  4. Proofread carefully

Consistency

  • Use consistent terminology
  • Match formatting across sections
  • Maintain voice and tone
  • Check cross-references

Section Status

Track progress with status indicators:

  • Not Started - No content yet
  • Draft - Content being developed
  • In Review - Awaiting feedback
  • Approved - Ready for export

Autosave

Your work is automatically saved:

  • Saves every few seconds
  • No manual save needed
  • Works offline (syncs when reconnected)
